Visitors Scabies Treatment After Infestation
Itching caused by scabies can be extremely painful during the night while you are trying to get some rest. This is especially bad because you have the rash to deal with and along with that you cannot sleep. Scabies treatment is urgent in these cases to give you back your rest and sanity. Treatment must be undertaken immediately after the doctor diagnoses the scabies.
Scabies are tough to get rid of and they are fast to multiply infecting your house completely. Pets have them too, dogs and cats especially but they belong to a different family which does not affect humans and vice versa. When your dog scratches all the time, and you have already treated him for lice and fleas it is probably scabies bothering him.
It is very important that scabies are reported to school immediately upon diagnosis by a doctor. They can spread like wild fire during the summer in closed quarters especially with small children. This is especially true in kindergarten and nursery where children are put to sleep together after recess and other activities.
Treatment is simple but must be done at very specific times to eliminate the plague. All the family and any person who has constant close contact with the family should be treated or at least be watched closely for infestation for at least twenty one days. That is how long the eggs that were deposited under your skin take to hatch.
Treatment with lotion and or cream must be repeated once a week for four weeks to be sure that they are all dead and gone. Scabies dig tunnels into your skin where they lay their eggs. These eggs hatch after twenty one days and the invasion starts again. This is the reason why the treatment has to be repeated for one month, to make sure the last eggs hatch and the scabies are killed.
Treatment for a normal infestation will last for one month and the complete household will need to cover themselves up with creams and lotions from the neck down once per week. Scabies incubation period is twenty one days from the day the eggs are buried in your skin to the day the new bugs, surface to multiply again. This cycle must be broken or they will keep coming back.
Scabies are weak and delicate. They survive because they multiply by the thousands. They cannot stay alive more than one day without a host to feed from. Hot weather or cold weather kills them too. Mans problem is that they are always leaving their eggs behind to perpetuate their existence. It is so hard to get rid of all the waste they leave behind which is why your skin continues to itch even after they are dead.
An itching and rash due to the presence of microscopic eggs and mites below the skin's surface needs prompt scabies treatment. When you kill scabies, you prevent a secondary infection.
